Guest reviews

  • Family with children

A quiet hotel in the center of town, clean, the room was big. Fine for the price.

It seemed were the only guests

  • Older travelers

Clean, breakfast is excellent and served in a great room, extra nice = free cava, very good espresso, good buffet.

no mini-bar, bar closes at 21h, beware of noise from streetmarket on saturday morning in front of hotel from 7 am (we had the pleasure of waking up from loud noises from a broken fan or generator from a vendor, not so much from people visiting the market)...

  • Group of friends

A lovely small family run hotel, rooms a good size and very clean, towels changed every day.The decor downstairs was lovely, very welcoming. The breakfast was very good, freshly prepared and plenty of choice, we were offered a glass of Cava with our breakfast on Easter Day, a very nice touch. Excellent value parking behind the Hotel in a public car park, 2euro 50 per day, and no charge for weekends. A really large and good market is held on a Saturday, well worth a look around.

I asked for a Liptons Breakfast Tea bag one morning and was informed they were only available in the guest rooms, not in the dining room, there were plenty of other teas too choose from but that was my preference. I brought one with me the following day. My sister and brother-in- law who were with us were asked to leave the small back garden as they were setting up for a private function, though they were only going to be in 10 mins, no sign of any other people around and as they should have pointed out they were paying guests, a minor but annoying moment.

  • Older travelers

We enjoyed the hotel it was very clean and lovely

I was upset when my wife and I were told we could not sit in the garden as there was something going on.We had paid to stay here and we were paying guest but we wernt welcome to sit in the garden and that was very bad if you pay for a hotel you should not be asked to go

  • Single

The central location of the hotel is a key selling point

Personnally, the room was poor when realizing had to be 100 euro per night incl. breakfast.

  • Single

warm welcome, clean room and well equiped, fine breakfast

  • Single

The staff were helpful and the surroundings relaxed and comfortable. The lounge / breakfast area is a pleasant place to be.

  • Older travelers

Central location and historic building, warm hospitality by the owners, excellent facilities, splendid rooms, everything ship-shape in order, free Wifi, great buffet breakfast

  • Single

    Excellent breakfast and good service

The room was stylish but rather austere and not welcoming

  • Single

It was easier to get to Aalst from Brussels Expo than to get to a hotel in Brussels. Minimal traffic and a nice quiet town.

The iron didn't come with an ironing board.

  • Single

Friendly receptionist with good restaurant recommendations, nice design, quiet location but central

Breakfast was of limited stock and not very comprehensive, but could be a one-off

  • Single

Guest rooms are pleasant and comfortable. Public areas have charm and a some grandeur, especially the breakfast room. Breakfast simple but good quality. Staff were efficient and friendly.

Not a complaint, but be aware that the hotel does not have a restaurant.

  • Older travelers

Location is so convienient.lots of fantastic resturaunts, bars and shops. hotel renovated to a lovley quality.beautiful building. parking excellent.

Journel in room not in internatonal languages!

  • Couple

I liked everything, specially the building itself (it is a XIX century palace, perfectly preserved) and the incredible size and confort of the rooms (the largest ones we stayed). The staff was also excellent and everything was tidy, clean and beautifully set; also elegant and prepared with extreme care. They make you feel in your own home in this palace, and the breakfast was wonderfu, too. The location is perfect if you want to travel through Belgium and Aalst is beautiful too. You have a cheap parking nearby the hotel, wich is perfect if you're travelling by car. And the value for money is excellent.

    I liked everything.

  • Older travelers

Central location, relaxing decor of public rooms, beautiful breakfast room, spacius bedroom and efficient and friendly staff.
